Which phone should you get? While there are tons of new phones on the market, some are better than others. 1. Do you want a phone with a long battery life?
If you’re a smartphone user, you know how annoying it is when you’re about to go out and then all of a sudden your phone is dead. If you don’t have a good data connection, then the last thing you want to do is to get in a jam-packed elevator, or end up in a crowded waiting room because your signal dropped. The Apple iPhone X now has 5G capabilities, but that’s a max of two different places it can reliably get a signal. How fast is that, you ask? Well if you travel outside of major cities and use your phone out in the open outdoors, 5G is meant to work up to two locations before having to connect again. In theory, this should reduce waiting times. In reality, 5G in cities usually isn’t great. The good news is that most people don’t have to worry about these kinds of situations as often. Almost all Android phones are capable of 100 Mbps or better symmetrical wireless data, and iPhones are no different. About 75 to 80 percent of cellphone users worldwide are on 4G LTE. This is the newest and fastest kind of cellular wireless data network. 4G LTE is capable of speeds between 150 and 300 Mbps.
These are great numbers to have for streaming video, gaming, and more. Regardless of where you are, 4G LTE should work just fine for using your phone as a portable hotspot. Just be aware that you’ll experience slower speeds than a traditional Wi-Fi or even a USB-C connection. Wireless routers have also become more common than ever.
2. Do you like the idea of an all-screen display?
It will be a big step up from the current iPhone X, which has a notch at the top of the screen to accommodate the front-facing camera. The notch has been a controversial design move, but Apple has to find a way to make room for the camera, microphone, and other sensors on the front of the device.The iPhone XS, and the newer iPhone 8, are both powerful enough to handle Face ID and likely run better on 3G networks. 4. Is the Kirin 659 processor strong enough to meet your needs?
The Kirin 659 is the first smartphone SoC to use the Cortex A53 cores in power-efficient big.LITTLE configuration. The Kirin 659 is based on the 16nm manufacturing process, and it uses the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU clocked at 650MHz. The Kirin 659 is available in both 3GB and 4GB versions. The 3GB version is the least expensive option. It features a fully-fledged Android OS with a customised version of EMUI 4. It has a dual-camera setup with a 108MP main lens and an 8MP selfie shooter. The phone also has NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, and 5G. The 4GB version uses the company’s own Kryo 280-A SoC.
It has traditionally been used in their budget phones, but it can now also be found in higher-end Android flagships. The XMG UB510 is one of Huawei’s new budget phones. It features the company’s latest Kirin 659 SoC. This SoC is more expensive than the Kirin 659 found in the Mate 10, and it comes in two variants. The USP here is that it has 18MP main camera with reversable zoom lens (with 108-1200mm focal length) and an 8MP front-facing camera. The battery is rated at 1800mAh, and it certainly holds its own against the 500 series. The phone also has a 3,090mAh battery for added usability in longer battery life scenarios. The Galaxy MIX correctly has 5G, as it uses T-Mobile’s new 5G modems. Devices that base their feature set around 5G have a harder time charging their batteries and missing out on features. Deals tend to be thinner on 5G phones than 4G phones.

Huawei’s software is getting better and better with every phone they launch. EMUI 8.0 is their latest software version, which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. It offers a lot of new features and refinements, and it’s the best version of their software yet.However, there are still a few things that are lacking. When Huawei has its phones together in a “press the button combination to activate the selfie camera” mode, the software is very forgettable. It’s not as exciting as some software features that have surfaced recently. Huawei’s A series telephones come with a lot of software improvements, but some are lacking. EMUI 8.0 helps to remedy these issues and provides a fresh start to Huawei’s software experience.
The new software brings a lot of features that make the phone faster and smoother. The hardware feels more premium, and you see a boost in both computational photography and fast charging. Many consumers don’t know Huawei makes Android phones. A lot of people assume that because Huawei makes Android phones, they must be little computers with no personality. While the Huawei Mate X (a budget version of the Mate 10) likely isn’t as robust as a $1200+ flagship Android phone, its software is excellent and illustrates that Huawei is committed to being Android’s premier phone manufacturer.
